Punk is widely recognized for his time with the famous American wrestling promotion, World Wrestling Entertainment.
Punk was born on October 26, 1978, in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. He is of American nationality. Before working with the WWE, he competed for several American wrestling promotions, IWA Mid South, Ring of Honor and Total Nonstop Action.
He later debuted for WWE developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2005 and went on to make his debut in ECW in the summer of 2006. CM Punk shot into prominence when he won the Money in the Bank in Wrestle Mania 24 and cashed against Edge to win his first major title in the WWE, the world heavyweight championship.
He won his first WWE championship against John Cena in the WWE PPV event, Money in the Bank in 2011 and later went to hold the title for 434 days when he won his second WWE championship by defeating Alberto Del Rio at the Survivor Series in November 2011.
Punk left the WWE in 2014 and later went to sign a multi-fight contract with the famous MMA promotion, Ultimate Fighting Championship on December 2014.
He made his professional and MMA debut against Gall on September 10, 2015, and lost with a near choked hold in the first round of the bout. Punk lost his second MMA fight against Mike Jackson with a unanimous decision on June 92018 at UFC 225. Reportedly he signed a four-fight deal with WWE but after his two back to back poor performances, two of the remaining fight in UFC seems uncertain unless some celebrity fights come up.
Punk is a renowned athlete and has earned a huge amount of money through WWE and from UFC career, his annual salary from the WWE is estimated to be around $1.7 million which also includes bonus 3.25 % on merchandise sales.
Similarly, According to Forbes magazine, he made around $1 million in his UFC debut. Hence looking at his professional career in both wrestling and MMA career, his total net worth combined with his assets and several other endorsements, his total sum is assumed around $8 million.
