Charlie white Jr is an American figure skater and ice dancer born on October 24, 1987. He is known as the winner of the 2014 Olympic Champion, the 2010 Olympic silver medallist.

The 30-year-old ice dancer is teamed up with Meryl Davis since 1997 and is known as the longest lasting dance team in united states. They won the world title and are also the first Americans to win the Olympic title.

Charlie White's Early Life

Charles was born in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak, Michigan, as the son of Jacqui and Charlie White Sr. He attended Roeper School in Birmingham, Michigan and graduated in 2005.

He then joined the University of Michigan in bachelors in political science. He also competed as an ice hockey and helped his team to win a state championship.

Charlie White's Career

 Charles began skating at the age of five. He won the bronze medal at the 2004 U.S championships on the novice level as a single skater. He also competed on the junior level internationally. He started ice dancing when he was seven years old.

He was partnered with Meryl Davis in 1997 by Seth Chafetz. They won a silver medal at the Junior Olympics in the Juvenile division, and in 1999-00 the division, and in 1999-00 they won gold at the Junior Olympics on the international level.

In the 2004-2005 season, they were medaled in both Junior Grand Prix and were placed second at the Junior Grand Prix Final. They won the Junior national title at the 2006 U.S Championships and won bronze at 2006 Junior Worlds.

They were placed 4th at both 2006-07 ISU Grand Prix. Davis and White became the first team to earn all level fours on their element at the 2006 NHK Trophy.

 They are the first team after Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto to go directly from winning the junior national title and making to the World team. They also qualified for the Four Continent championship and were placed fourth.

In 2008-09 they won their first Grand Prix assignment.  The duo won gold at the 2009 National Championships when Belbin/Agosto withdrew due to injury. And at the 2009 world championships, they were placed 4th.

At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada they were placed second winning silver. Davis/ white also won the silver medal at the 2010 World Championships.

In 2010/2011 season Davis and White were undefeated. They won the U.S championship for the 3rd consecutive times held at Greensboro, North Carolina.

Davis and White placed second to Virtue/Moir at the 2011 Four Continents Championships. They went to win the free dance and the title with a total of 172.03 points.

In the 2011-12 season, they were assigned to two Grand Prix events – 2011 skate America and 2011 Cup of Russia. Davis and White won gold at Skate America with 70.33 points and 107.74 in the free dance.

They qualified for the 2011-12 Grand Prix Final and won a gold medal at the event. However, they edged Virtue/Moir by 5.6 points at the 2012 World Team Trophy.

Davis and White were assigned to compete at 2012 Skate America and 2012 NHK Trophy, for the 2012-13 season winning gold in both series. They set a record by becoming the first team to win four Grand Prix Final titles in December.

In January 2013, they won their fifth title of U.S Ice Dance and also set U.S scoring records in both the short and free dances. They also continued their undefeated winning season for the gold medal at the 2013 Four Continents. In March at the World Championships, they again defeated Virtue and Moir winning their second world championship title.

For 2013 and 2014 programs,  Davis and white worked with Derek Hough and Alex Wong. During an event in Sochi at the 2014 Winter Olympics, they earned 20 points in two first-place for the U.S team. The skating couple won the gold defeating the team of Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue.

In 2014, they performed with Stars on Ice. Davis and White continue to perform together in the ice shows however, they confirmed that they would not return to completion.

Charlie White's Personal Life

Charlie is married to Canadian-American ice dancer Tanith Belbin on April 25, 2015. They were engaged in June 2014. The two have a son together and are currently living in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The wedding ceremony was held at the Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield, Michigan. White wore Ralph Lauren while Tanith appeared in an ivory Modern Trousseau gown. 

His wife, Tanith currently works as an Olympic host for NBC Sports. The couple first met each other in West Bloomfield in 1998.

White stands 5 feet 8 inches tall in height and weights 72kg. He belongs to American nationality and White ethnicity.
