Swanson, who fought with MMA fighters like Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo, after receiving his Fight of the Year trophy defeating Korean fighter, Doo-Ho Choi got emotional during his speech in Feb and said:

When I gave the speech, people were saying, ‘Oh, Cub gets emotional during his speech. People didn’t know that it was the greatest night of my life because I had that great fight, and then I found out I was going to be a dad.

The big moment came as the couple with their due date of August, welcomed their first child, daughter Royal Rae Swanson on August 21, 2017. Swanson even tweeted a video about his daughter's interest in watching fights.
