He made his professional career MMA debut in 2002 and compete for various MMA promotions such as Martial Arts Extreme and M1 Global. Weichel later went to signed with famous renowned American promotion MMA, Bellator MMA in September 2013.
He made his Bellator debut in the Season Ten Featherweight Tournament Quarterfinal and took on Scott Cleve during February 28, 2014, at the Bellator 110 with a submission hold. Weichel faced off against competitors such as Matt Bessette, Desmond Green, Pat Curran, Emmanuel Sanchez, Brian Moore, John Teixeria, and several others.
As of recent, he faced off against Patricio Freire at the main event during Bellator 2003 that took place on July 14, 2018. He lost the bout via split decision.
