Davis Thompson is an American golf player. Most recently he finished his collegiate career competing for the University of Georgia.
Auburn, Alabama native, Davis Thompson was born on 5th June 1999, under the star sign Gemini. He is the son of Leigh Thompson and Todd Thompson, who lettered for Georgia from 1985-88 and served as team captain in 1987 and 1988. Davis Thompson started playing golf at Lee-Scott Academy. He helped the high school team to six state championships and also claimed state medalist honors in 2013 and 2015.
After graduation, he joined the University of Georgia. Made his collegiate debut in The Carmel Cup, placing 20th, and Saw action in 11 of the Bulldogs’ 12 tournaments.
The following season, he won the NCAA Athens Regional for his first collegiate victory. As a junior, he • Came in sixth in the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational and the Southern Highlands Collegiate, and eighth in The Carmel Cup. During his senior season, he won the Tallahassee Regional with a career-best 14-under 202 to help Georgia qualify for the NCAA Championships.
On 20th September 2020, he made his debut at U.S. Open. There he made 69 cuts in round 1 and 78 cuts in round two. He next appeared on The RSM Classic.
He started the 2021 season playing at Palmetto Championship at Congaree, on 13th June 2021. Also, he competed at Travelers Championship and Rocket Mortgage Classic.
