The Egypt National football team represents Egypt in the international football competitions and is controlled by Egyptian Football Association. Cairo International stadium is its home ground but has played more matches at El Geish International Stadium of Alexandria.

Egypt is the most successful African nation having won the Africa Cup of Nations for the record seven times. It is also one of the only three African countries to have been on to the top 10 in the FIFA world rankings. However, they don’t have a good record in the world cup as they have qualified on two times previously (1930 and 1994). It is the first African nation to play the world cup.

Egypt currently ranks 30th in the FIFA ranking but their best ever record was 9th on two occasions in 2010. Their worst ever ranking is 75 as of March 2013. Ahmed Hassan is the highest capped Egyptian player with 184 games played and Hossam Hassan stands first in the highest scorers list with 69 goals. Héctor Cúper is the current head coach of the team with Essam El-Hadary as their captain.

Egypt qualified for the World cup 2018 as the Group E winner in the CAF confederation qualification.
