The Iran national football team has announced their 24-Men provisional squad for 2018 FIFA World Cup. Familiar faces like Jalal Hosseini and Voria Ghafouri have both been left off from the provisional 24-man squad for the World Cup.

With the surprise, the head coach Carlos Queiroz has left out Kaveh Rezaei who had a brilliant season with Belgium's Charleroi. He scored 16 goals in 39 games this season.

Iran has been the highest-ranked team in Asia since December 2014 and is currently the 32nd ranked team in the world according to the latest FIFA World Rankings. Iran is one of the most successful national teams in Asia with three Asian Cup championships.

Iran is due to make their fifth World Cup appearance after qualifying without much pressure in Russia 2018. The three-time Asian Cup of Nations winners is set to leave their mark in this World Cup as their squad is full of exciting young talent and experienced players from Europe's top clubs.

Iran will face Portugal, Spain, and Morocco in the Group D. The team will be playing warm-up matches in Turkey and Greece before heading to Russia. Here is the provisional list of players to be included in Belgium national team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
