Ahead of UFC 260 bout against Abubakar Nurmagomedov, Jared Gooden verbally attacked former UFC veteran, Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is also the cousin of his opponent Abubakar. Gooden criticized the wrestling-heavy approach of the Russian fighters. Also, he made a controversial comparison between Nurmagomedov's team's fighting style and all-male pornography.

He said, "Whenever you hear the name Nurmagomedov, or whenever I do, I think of g** porn. You know what I mean? These guys are gonna come out there, they're gonna try to wrestle, they're gonna d**k ride, they're gonna grab a leg and just stay on the whole three rounds. The Russians, they all fight the same. Nothing against them, they found the system that works for them and it works... But I am gonna go out there and I am gonna change the game... and I am about to come unscathed."

This ain't ended here further he showed overconfidence in his ability to defeat Abubakar Nurmagomedov via knockout or submission, citing Khabib's cousin's submission loss in his promotional debut with the UFC.

Fighting Career

Jared Gooden began MMA training on June 2, 2011. "I'll never forget that day," Gooden said. Grew up fighting. the first MMA/UFC fight he watched was of BJ Penn vs Matt Hughes and he couldn't believe the little guy beat the bigger guy. Years later, he made up to the spot. 

On 8th August 2015, Jared made his professional debut against Bobby Tucker at NFC 76- Wild Bill's Fight Night 76, defeating him via submission. After that, he went on to fight at various promotions such as Legacy Fighting Championship (LFC), Wild Billi's Fighting Championship (NFC), Orlando City Fights (OCF), Titan FC, Square Ring Promotions, and Empire Fighting Championship (EFC).

In 2020, Jared signed to the UFC, making his promotional debut at UFC 255 - Figueiredo vs. Perez on 21st November 2020 against Alan Jouban. The bout was a unanimous decision but unfortunately not in Jared's favor. In his next fight, he is scheduled to face Abubakar Nurmagomedov at UfC 260: Miocic vs. N'Gannou 2 on 27th March 2021.
