Jeremiah Sirles is an American football player who plays the position of guard. He currently plays for the Buffalo Bills who signed him with a one year contract on September 25, 2018. Prior to playing for the Bills, he has been a member of teams such as San Diego Chargers, Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers.

 

Sirles has been playing football since his high school years. For his collegiate career, he played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and was named to the second-team All-Big Ten during his junior years of college.

Early Life of Jeremiah Sirles

Jeremiah Sirles was born on August 8, 1991, in Lakewood, Colorado to parents Nora Sirles and Phil Sirles. He played football for his high school team of the Bear Creek High School Bears. During his junior years, he earned first-team All-Colorado and all-conference honors and was earned first-time All-South Metro League and second-team all-state honors in his sophomore years.

Sirles joined the Nebraska University and played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers for his college football career. He redshirted the 2009 season but played from 2010 to 2013. He played in 53 games and was the starter for 41 games. He earned the 2013 Cornhuskers' Guy Chamberlin Award. He was the second-team All-Big Ten during his junior years.

Professional Life of Jeremiah Sirles

Jeremiah Sirles entered the 2014 NFL Draft but was undrafted. He was signed by the San Diego Chargers on May 10, 2014, and was added to the Chargers' practice squad on August 31, 2014. He was promoted to the starting position in December and made his NFL debut on December 20, 2014 filling in for the injured Johnnie Troutman. He got to start in the game against the Kansas City Chiefs on December 28, 2014.

After 2 seasons with the Chargers, Sirles was traded by the Chargers to the Minnesota Vikings on September 5, 2015, in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. During his earlier times at the Vikings, he remained at the bench and played in a few games filling in for Alex Boone and Andre Smith. it was only in mid-season that he got his first chance to become the starter for the Vikings.

Jeremiah Sirles remained a backup guard and center for the 2017 season and played in 14 games in the position. He was the starter in four games of the season where he was replacing the injured starters Nick Eston and Pat Elflein.

Sirles was acquired by the Carolina Panthers for the 2018 season. Sirles signed a one-year contract with the Panthers on March 23, 2018. Being injured, he was placed on injured reserve on September 1, 2018, and was released from the team on September 6, 2018.

Jeremiah Sirles new contract was with the Buffalo Bills who had players like Marcus Murphy and Jordan Mills. The Bulls signed him on September 25, 2018.
