Jesse Taylor is an American professional mixed martial arts fighter, who is currently competing in the Welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Taylor has won The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Welterweight Tournament and is nicknamed as Money JT.
Jesse Talyor was born as Jesse Marcus Taylor, on 2 January 1983. He was born to American parents in Poway, California, the United States.
He graduated from Poway High School in Poway, CA, where he was a wrestler and further, joined San Francisco State University. Talking about his nationality, he is an American.
Taylor won his entry match against Nick Rossborough by rear naked choke and was picked sixth overall by Forrest Griffin. He was into the finale of the tournaments defeating Mike Dolce, Dante Rivera, and Tim Credeur. He was removed from the finals after a security recording presented to Dana White, it was reported that Taylor was drunk. He officially linked with UFC in which he fought Drew Fickett at a catchweight of 175 pounds and won the match.
Taylor then dropped down from middleweight to welterweight. He defeated Altamirano via rear naked choke in the second round on January 15. He fought against Chris Camozzi on 28 March 2009, he won the King of Champions belt held by Camozz and was offered a fight for Japan promotion, DREAM. He made his debut on July 20, 2009, at Dream 10 against Korean Judoka, Dong Sik Yoon.
He signed a two-fight deal with the Canadian-based promotion, Maximum Fighting Championship and lost against Thales Leites by submissions. His second fight for MFC took place on the main card of the MFC 26 card against Tom Watson. Taylor won via unanimous decision. He faced David Branch at World Series of Fighting 10 on June 21, 2014, in the middleweight tournament final. He was again back to UFC and fought Dhiego Lima in the finals on July 7, 2017, at The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale and won the fight via rear-naked choke submission in the second round.
