Early Life & Career in France

Kembo Ekoko was born on 8 January 1988 in Kinshasa, Zaire (now Democratic Republic of the Congo). His father was Kembo Uba Kembo, who played for the DR Congo national team in the 1974 FIFA World Cup.

When he was six years old, his mother sent him to France to study, while his parents remained in Zaire. He lived in Bondy, Île-de-France with his uncle and older sister.

Scouts saw him play football at school after seeing him play football on the street. He joined the youth team AS Bondy when he was 9 years old. After four years, he went to Clairefontaine, a well-known school for talented young people. Rennes is a club in Ligue 1, which is the top level of French football. He came after three years of training.

His first professional deal was with Rennes, and he played his first game that same year. He played for Rennes until 2012 and scored 16 goals in 110 games. He also played for France's under-21 team and scored three goals in nine games.

Career in the Middle East & Turkey

The football player Kembo Ekoko left Rennes in 2012 and joined the club Al Ain FC, which plays in the British League. There, he scored 25 goals in 57 games, which was more than his previous best. Furthermore, he won three league wins and one cup with Al Ain.

In 2013, he was loaned to El Jaish SC, a club in the Stars League of Qatar. He scored six goals in 22 games for El Jaish and helped them reach the final of the AFC Champions League, where they lost to Guangzhou Evergrande.

In addition, he went to Al Nasr SC, another club in the UAE Pro League, after going back to Al Ain in 2015. He played 55 games for Al Nasr and scored 12 goals. He won one cup with them.

Later, he quit Al Nasr in 2017 and signed with Thai Super League team Bursaspor. He scored four goals in 26 games for Bursaspor until 2019.
