Lindsay's mother Terri is a former principal at Rose Hill Elementary School which is a Fairfax County public school situated in Alexandria, Virginia. Her brother, Andrew who is a 2005 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy, currently serves in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Lindsay is a great sports fan and has played lacrosse and field hockey during his school period at Centreville High School. Czarniak started as an intern for WUSA in Washington, D.C. during her college days and started her broadcasting career as a CNN production assistant. Her first on-air role as a news reporter took place while she was working for WAWS in Jacksonville, Florida.
