Born to Jessica and Eric Madsen, Maddux Jeter Madsen grew up in the beautiful city of American Fork, Utah, on August 1, 2003. He was raised in an athletic world with five siblings, all named after famous baseball players, indicating that athleticism runs deep within the Madsen family. This special tradition shows their love of sports, which in turn breeds competition and camaraderie between siblings. Growing up in the shadow of such a tradition influenced Maddux to try and forge his path into the world of athletics.
His education started with Maddux attending American Fork High School, from where he soon became the outstanding quarterback of the school. During his high school career, he was nothing short of spectacular, as he wowed the fans and scouts around with a strong arm and high football IQ. This three-star prospect was ranked among the top pocket passers in the nation.
His commitment to Boise State University marked an exciting new chapter. Between interdisciplinary professional studies in the classroom and the demands of college football, Maddux embodies everything a student-athlete could be: dedicated on and off the field.
Madsen's college football career started at Boise State in 2022. As most freshmen experience, Madsen was amid learning curves in his freshman year. During his first year, he got to see some action, where he was three for four, passing for 43 yards. During the 2023 season, though, is where Maddux would begin to shine. In his first career start against New Mexico, he threw for an incredible 202 yards and two touchdowns in November, an entrance into probably one of the most formidable quarterbacks.
He would end that season with 1,191 passing yards and nine touchdowns over nine games. Coming into the 2024 season, Maddux kept improving his craft, as through December 2024, he had completed over 1,482 passing yards and 13 touchdowns. His performances made him an Honorable Mention All-Mountain West and a Davey O'Brien Award Quarterback Class of 2024.

Maddux's style of play is more about precision and thinking through plays, not pure strength. With a name like Greg Maddux, the Hall of Fame pitcher, he says every throw has to be on target, and that makes him a very reliable quarterback who doesn't choke under pressure.
His competitive nature hasn't gone unnoticed; he has garnered respect from teammates and coaches alike with his work ethic and determination. With the records and personal milestones he has been breaking, Maddux has been one to watch in collegiate football.
Standing at 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 201 pounds, the agility combined with the strength that Maddux Madsen has is what separates him from the majority of quarterbacks. He has an athletic build, is able to move around in the pocket, and makes accurate throws with pressure in his face. Physical attributes complement quick decision-making and sharp awareness on the field qualities that make him a true leader and not just a player for his team.
Apart from baseball, Maddux Madsen grew up in a sporting family where hard work and resilience are paramount. With his father, a past baseball coach, young Maddux learned about the aspects of discipline and dedication since childhood—virtues that have shaped his life both in academic life and sports.
Through the struggle times of college life and following his dreams on the football field, Maddux shows that through support and family legacy, he can still stay humble. It is not about him and his success; it is living a family passion for sports and building his own identity as an athlete.
