A Nigerian professional footballer, Francis Odinaka Uzoho is better known as Francis in the football world. Currently, the player is signed to Cypriot First Division club Anorthosis Famagusta on loan from Deportivo de La Coruña as a goalkeeper. Since 2017, Francis is in the Nigeria national team and has been capped 13 times.

At the age of 14, Francis began playing football at Qatari Aspire Academy, firstly as a forward, he was converted into a goalkeeper after being deemed at his 12.

Following his 2016 impressive tournament performance, he moved to Deportivo de La Coruna’s Juvenile squad.

In 2017, Francis signed his first official football contract with Deportivo and soon started to train with the main team. Ahead of the 2017-18 season, he was promoted to the reserve team. On 10th September 2017, he made his professional debut in a 3-0 Segunda Division B home victory over Real Madrid Castilla.

On 15th October 2017, Francis made his first team as well as La Liga debut in a goalless draw against SD Eibar. At his 18, he was named the youngest ever foreign goalkeeper to debut in La Liga, and the second youngest player to make an appearance in the league during the campaign, only after Achraf Hakimi.

In February 2019, Francis joined Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta, on loan in the search for more first-team football in the run-up 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

At the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, Francis played for his national side.

In October 2017, he earns his first ever calls up from the Nigeria national team. On 14th November of the same year, he made his international team debut, replacing Daniel Akpeyi in a 4-2 friendly victory over Argentina.

In May 2018, he along with his teammate Elderson Echiejile was named in Nigeria 23 man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
