Rustam Khabilov was born as Rustam Mikailovich Khabilov on Nov 4, 1986, in Khasavyurtovsky District, Dagestan ASSR, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. He is Russian. On Feb 11, 2012, he made his debut at ONE Fighting Championship: Battle of Heroes at The BritAma Arena in Jakarta, Indonesia. He fights against the BJJ World Champion Rodrigo Ribeiro and won the fight via unanimous decision.
In July 2012, Rustam Khabilov agreed on a four-fight deal with the UFC. On Dec 15, 2012, at The Ultimate Fighter: Team Carwin vs. Team Nelson Finale, he won the fight against Vinc Pichel in the first round by finishing him off with punches on the ground. After winning his second, fight against the Strikeforce veteran Yancy Medeiros, On Nov 6, 2013, his third fight against the Jorge Masvidal at UFC: Fight for the Troops 3. He won the bout via unanimous decision. On Dec 10, 2016, at UFC 206, he faced Jason Saggo and won the one-sided fight via unanimous decision.
