Tyron Woodley talks about Mentoring Colby Covington in his Initial Days MMA

The former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will compete against the former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington at UFC Fight Night on September 19. The two fighters were expected to fight each other two years ago but was canceled due to injuries.

The former American Top Team teammates, however, have been the opposition and do not see eye to eye at the moment. While the bout has now been scheduled the Chosen One believes Colby used his name to make money in the UFC.

In his recent interview with  ESPN MMA, Woodley talked about his relationship with Chaos in the early days. He said:

"I mean Colby hadn’t fought a professional fight yet. So he was an amateur fighter trying to find his way in. Like many of these welterweights, I was almost like a mentor to him. Where you know I said you need to fight this guy, and this guy is a good fight. You need to set up like a press kit or media kit so you can get sponsors."

Tyron further added:

“And you know I paid him. I paid him well. Especially for where he was at in his career, he was not even making that much in his fights. I paid him that much per week to train with him.”

So, Who do you think will come out victorious on Saturday night? Have your say.
