Yaozong Hu is Chinese professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter who is currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship UFC under the light heavyweight division. Turned professional in 2016, he competed at Chinese MMA Super League and Glory of Heroes before UFC.
Nicknamed Totoro, Yaozong Hu was born on 7th April 1995, under the star sign Aries. The twenty-six years old holds Chinese nationality. As a young, he started Greco but ended up transiting to MMA when he was 19. Before MMA, he was a Greco-Roman wrestler.
On 14th October 2016, Yaozong made his professional debut against Terigenle at the Chinese MMA Super League. He won the fight in round one via submission. The next day, he faced Baoleeerdalai Er Da Bao at the Chinese MMA Super League, defeating him in round three via KO/TKO. On 2nd December 2016, Yaozong wins against Abror Yakhyaev at Glory of Heroes 10.
On 25th November 2017, Yaozong made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 122 where he lost against Cyril Asker. In the following bout at UFC Night 141, he was defeated by Rashad Colter.
Almost after three years, Yaozong is ready to make his come at UFC 264-Poirier vs McGregor where he is scheduled to face Alen Amedovski on 10th July 2021.
With a pro record of 3-2-0 (Win-Loss-Draw), Yaozong has made a few thousand dollars from his MMA career. Turned professional in 2016, he initially competed at Chinese leagues, earning a decent sum of money.
In 2018, he signed to UFC and from his debut UFC bout at UFC Fight Night 122, he summoned $12,500 ($10,000 to show, $2,500 Reebok sponsorship). Similarly, from his second bout at UFC Fight Night 141, he pursed $15,500 ($10,000 to show, $2,000 from Coulter for missing weight, $3,500 fight week incentive pay).
