Andreas Hugo Hoelgebaum Pereira was born on January 1, 1996, in Duffel, Belgium, to Brazilian parents. In all likelihood, his interest in football came from his father, Marcos Pereira-a professional footballer. At the age of nine years, Andreas moved to the Netherlands, one such move that would mark the beginning of his professional footballing career.
Andreas started his football career with a local club in Belgium before moving to PSV Eindhoven's academy in 2005 at the tender age of nine. Talented and gifted, his potential was soon recognized, and in November 2011, the talented player signed with Manchester United Youth Academy.
It is one of those critical transitions that happened in the growth of this young footballer to prepare the platform for excellence.
He made his senior debut for Manchester United in the League Cup in August 2014 and his Premier League debut in March 2015 against Tottenham Hotspur. In his days with Manchester United, he made his first goal for the club in his first appearance of the 2015-2016 season against Ipswich Town.
First, Andreas was loaned to Granada for the 2016-2017 season, where he got eight goal involvements, then to Valencia for the 2017-2018 season, helping the latter achieve a top-four finish in La Liga.

Italian club Lazio then witnessed Andreas embark on a new challenge in the season of 2020-2021. Throughout the seasons in Italy, he contributed much to the team as Lazio qualified for the Champions League knockout stages and finished top-six in Serie A.
Up to this date, that is a formative experience in a different league with its own culture, exposing him to new tactics and playing styles.
Andreas signed for Fulham FC on 11 July 2022, on a four-year contract, with the option of an additional year depending on the club's discretion. The transfer had been reportedly set at £8 million upfront, with the deal rising to a value of £10 million with add-ons included. Added to this is a 20% sell-on clause.
He made his Fulham debut on 6 August 2022, against Liverpool in a 2-2 draw. Andreas, despite suffering a season-ending broken ankle in April 2023, had a rather impressive season with Fulham this season, showcasing how versatile and skilled he truly is.
An interesting fact about Andreas can be stressed, which is that he played for the youth teams of Belgium, then, at an Under-20 level, changed to Brazil. Of course, this decision was not an easy one because he wanted to be part of the country of his parents' origin.
He began his senior international career with Brazil in a 5-0 win against El Salvador in September 2018 and has since represented Brazil, along with his presence in the 2024 Copa América squad as a justification for his growing importance at the international level.
In his time so far at Manchester United, Andreas has racked up a few milestones. He scored his first-ever Premier League goal against Southampton in March 2019, which went on to win Manchester United's Goal of the Season.
He also played a very important role in Manchester United's historic comeback against PSG in the 2018-2019 season of the Champions League. He won several titles, including the FA Cup, Community Shield, and International Champions Cup with Manchester United.
In April of 2023, Andreas suffered a major setback when he broke his ankle in the game. This injury put a close to his season for Fulham but should be fully healed by the start of the next season.
Amidst such adverse situations, Andreas is determined, focused on his career, resolute, and dedicated to his sport.
To date, Andreas has made over 360 appearances across clubs and competitions, netting 38 goals, with 43 assists to his name. This speaks volumes about an individual who has been consistent in performance and delivery for the teams he has played for.
These numbers will go on increasing with time as he keeps on growing and evolving into his career, hence setting a bar in the world of football.
