Bounou moved to Atletico Madrid B on July 1, 2012, with a transfer fee of £324,000. He then renowned his contract with the team for the next four years on May 13, 2013. He was promoted to a senior squad in the 2014 summer after Thibaut Courtois and Daniel Aranzubia's departures.
