Ehsan Hajsafi is a professional footballer from Iran who currently plays as the left midfielder and left-back for the National Team of Iran and the Greek professional football club, AEK Athens. He played for Sepahan, Tractor Sazi, FSV Frankfurt, and Panionios.

Hajsafi has represented his national team at International Friendlies, World Cup Qualification, AFC Asian Cup, and World Cup. He is the agent of Int. Soccer Management. He is a member of the U-20 team that won the WAFF Championship in 2008.

Ehsan Hajsafi’s Career

During his youth career, Ehsan Hajsafi played for Zob Ahan and Sepahan. He played for Zob Ahan from 2000 to 2006. On August 1, 2007, Hajsafi was promoted to the senior squad of Sepahan from Sepahan U-19. During his 2008-2009 season, he scored beautiful goals, and in the 2009-10 season, he extended his contract with the team for the next two years. For the team, he scored 31 goals in 260 appearances.

Ehsan Hajsafi was a member of the team that won the Hazfi Cup 2005-2007 and 2012-013. Hajsafi had a loan spell at Tractor Sazi for one-and-a-half-year in the 2011–2012 season, making 46 appearances and scoring nine goals before ending his loan contract. On August 31, 2015, Hajsafi was transferred to Bundesliga club FSV Frankfurt on a free transfer with a two-year contract and made his league debut against Eintracht Braunschweig.

He scored his first goal in March 2016 in a 3-3 draw against MSV Duisburg. Hajsafi scored a 50-yard goal against Freiburg on March 13, 2016. He scored two goals in 27 appearances before ending his stint in a team. On July 31, 2016, Hajsafi moved to his former club, Sepahan, on a free transfer for a year. He scored six goals in 29 appearances.

On July 8, 2017, Hajsafi was transferred to Greek Super League, Panionios, while his market value was estimated at €1.00 million on a free transfer with a two-year contract. Hajsafi made his official debut for the club on July 13, 2017, against Slovenian team Gorica in the Europa League. Later, he left the club in 2018, scoring two goals in 20 appearances.

On January 2, 2018, Hajsafi moved to the Greek professional football club Olympiacos with a transfer fee of €600K with a three-and-a-half-year contract. He made his debut in Super League as a starter.  However, The player moved to Tractor and remained with the club until 2021. After the season, He joined AEK Athens.

Ehsan Hajsafi’s International Career

In 2007, Hajsafi made his international debut with Iran U-17, with whom he played six games and scored two goals. He also represented his team at the 2006 AFC Youth Championship.

Hajsafi then played eight games and scored two goals for Iran U-20. For the U-23 team, he scored 1 goal in 12 matches.

On May 25, 2008, Hajsafi earned his first senior cap under the coach Ali Daei against Zambia and scored his first goal over Qatar in the 2008 West Asian Football Federation Championship. In June 2014, Hajsafi was invited into Iran’s 2014 FIFA World Cup by Carlos Queiroz and played a 90-minute full match against Nigeria that ended 0-0.

Hajsafi was assigned as captain for the first time in his 57th national cap against Kuwait in March 2014. In June 2014, Hajsafi was substituted in the 88th minute against Argentina, where Lionel Messi scored a goal in 90+1 minutes. He has so far been capped 119 times, with his national team scoring seven goals. He and Mehdi Torabi save the midfield line in international matches.
