Franck Kessie started his football career by joining the youth setup of Stella Club in 2010/ In 2014, he joined Atlanta.

On 29th January 2015, Kessie signed his first professional contract with Atlanta. Upon his arrival, he was assigned to the club's Primavera team and played seven games for the side. 
On 1st March 2015, he played his first match in Europe in a 2–0 away win against AC Milan Primavera.

On 18th April 2015, he was named to the first team for a game against Roma, however, he was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw the next day. 

On 26th August 2015, he was loaned out to the Serie B side Cesena on a one-year deal. On 26th September 2015, he made his Cesena debut against Perugia, entering as a substitute for Antonino Ragusa in a goalless draw. 

Upon coming back to Atlanta, he made his debut for La Dea starting and scoring the last in a 3–0 Coppa Italia home win against Cremonese on 13th August 2016. On 21st August 20166, he made his main category debut of Italian football n a 4-3 home loss against Lazio. 

On 2nd June 2017, Kessie was loaned out to Serie side AC Milan for a two-season loan deal along with an obligation to buy. On 27th July 2017, he made his Milan debut in a match against CS U Craiova, helping Milan to win the first leg Europa League qualification.

Kessie represented Ivory Coast in U-17, U-20, and Ivory Coast Olympic. 

On 6th September 2014, Kessie made his international debut for Ivory Coast National Team at the age of seventeen. The game ended in a 2–1 home win against Sierra Leone for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
