Guzman Pereira is an Uruguayan professional football player who currently plays as a mid fielder for Penarol and his national side Uruguay. He started his career with Montevideo Wanderers and has also played for Universidad de Chile.

Early Life

Guzman Pereira was born on 16 May 1991, in Montevideo, Uruguay and his full name is Ricardo Guzman Pereira Mendez. He started playing football at the age of 7, he is of Uruguayan nationality and belongs to White American ethnicity.

Club Career

Guzman Pereira began his footballing career joining the youth academy of his local club Montevideo Wanderers. He made his professional appearance since 2010 joining the Uruguayan top division club Montevideo Wanderers. He was in the club for four successive seasons, he played 63 games for the club scoring three times. He then moved to Chilean Club Universidad de Chile in 2014. He played 42 games for the club scoring two goals. After two years in the club, he was sent on loan to Penarol in 2016. He still plays for Penarol.

International Career

Guzman has experienced representing his national side in both junior and senior levels. He made his junior national team debut in 2011 representing Uruguayan U-20 national team in World Cup qualifying match. He made his senior national team debut in 2014 and has won 10 caps for his national side without a goal.
