Kanako Murata is a well-known Japanese female mixed martial artist. She has been competing in the professional mixed martial artist since 2016. Kanako currently plays in the Ultimate Fighting Championship under the strawweight division. Murata is the former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion. Kanako Murata was born on August 10, 1993, in Matsuyama, Ehime, Prefecture. She comes from a sports family and is the granddaughter of a judo dojo master. However, Kanako has not shared much about her parents in public. Murata stands five feet and one inch tall and weighs 52 kg.

In June 2019, The Japanese fighter returned to Strawweight and defeated the Invicta FC 35 against Liana Pirosin.
In November 2019, Kanako won her first title of Invicta FC Strawweight Championship against Emily Ducote. Murata made her UFC debut in November 2020 against Randa Markos and won the match via unanimous decision. However, Murata lost her first UFC match UFC on ESPN against Virna Jandiroba viva TKO.

Kanako has represented Japan in numerous international events. Murata won Gold Medal in the Asian Wrestling Champions in 2012.
