Ki Sung -yueng was born on 24th January 1984, in Gwangju, South Korea to Ki Young-ok and Nam Yeong-sook. He grew up along with his sister Ki Sang-ah. In 2011, Ki moved to Brisbane, Australia, and studied at John Paul College. There he played for the youth football team and won the 2004 Bill Turner Cup. 

Ki received offers from  Korean club FC Seoul and A-League club Queensland Roar in 2005. But he decided to return to South Korea. In Korea, Ki attended Kumho High School and later Kyonggi University.

Ki Sung-yueng's Career

Ki Sung-yueng began playing football since his school days. After returning to South Korea from Australia, Ki joined FC Seoul. During the 2008 season, Ki scored a winning goal against  Suwon Samsung Bluewings in the 92nd minute. However, Ki transferred to Celtic FC during the 2009 season and played until 2011 season. 

Later, Ki signed a three-year contract with Swansea City for around £6 million. But just after a season, Ki transferred to Sunderland on a season-long loan on 31st August 2013. After playing a season, Ki returned back to Swansea in the starting of 2014–15 Premier League season and is still playing for the same club.

Ki Sung-yueng's International Career

Ki made his international debut in the 2007 U-20 World Cup and further played for the South Korea under-23 team. Similarly, he also played at 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Jordan. Ki was picked for 2010 World Cup finals on 1st June 2010. 

Furthermore, Ki won a South Korean Player of the Year award on 20th December 2011. Moreover, he was also selected for 2014 World Cup.  Currently representing South Korea in 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The couple began dating in March 2013. After dating a couple of months, they got engaged in May 2013. Ki and Han filed their marriage registration on 25th June 2013 and finally shared their vows on 1st July 2013 at the Intercontinental Hotel Seoul. They have a daughter Ki Si-on born on 13th September 2015.
