He started his senior career with the Miami Fusion in 2000. While playing with the club side, he was sent on a loan to MLS Pro-40 and played seven games. He then moved to Denver soccer club Colorado Rapids in 2002 and played five seasons with them.
On July 16, 2007, Beckerman was traded to Real Salt Lake for Mehdi Ballouchy. Despite joining the team in mid-season, he quickly established himself as a team leader for RSL. Until now, he has scored 30 goals in 274 appearances for his club side.
Kyle Beckerman represented team USA at the different international level of football competition. He made his appearance for the U-16, U-17, and U-23 National Team in the 2004 Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Mexico.
