Mateus Uribe is a professional footballer from Colombia who currently plays for National Team of Colombia and professional football club, América based in Mexico City.  The 26-year old footballer played for Deportivo Español, Envigado, Deportes Tolima, and Atlético Nacional previously.

Uribe was the member of the Atletico Nacional club that won Categoría Primera A: Torneo Apertura 2017, Copa Colombia(2016), Copa Libertadores(2016), Recopa Sudamericana (2017).

Mateus Uribe started his career as a member of the Espanol U-19. In 2010, he was promoted to the first team of Deportivo Espanol. Later, he left the club in 2011 after making 4 appearances and scoring 2 goals.

On January 1, 2012, Uribe was transferred to Envigado. Before leaving the club, he scored 7 goals in 87 appearances.

Mateus Uribe had a loan spell at Categoría Primera A  side, Deportes Tolima for a 2015-016 season where he scored 9 goals in 49 appearances.

On July 1, 2016, Uribe was signed by Atlético Nacional. For the club, he played 28 games and scored 6 goals.

Uribe was then transferred to America with the transfer fee of €5.05 million on August 1, 2017. He has so far scored 7 goals in 21 appearances for the team.

Mateus Uribe’s International Career

On January 26, 2017, Uribe earned his first international cap under the coach Jose Nestor Pekerman in a friendly match against Brazil in a 1-0 loss. He has been capped 5 times for his national team since 2017.

He along with, Camilo Vargas, Frank Fabra, and Abel Aguilar, was called up for a friendly match against France on March 23., 2018.
