Matthew Thomas Spiranovic or famously known as Matthew Spiranovic is an Australian professional football player. He currently plays as a central defender for Australia national team and Chinese football club, Hangzhou Greentown.

Besides, he has also played German Bundesliga club, 1.FC Nurnberg, Japanese football club, Urawa Red Diamonds and Qatari club, Al-Arabi SC. He has represented Australia in their U17, U20 as well as  U23, and made his senior debut for Australia in 2008.

After playing for fellow Australian club, Melbourne Victory in 2005, he moved to Germany and signed with German football club, 1.FC Nurnberg in 2006. He made his debut for Nurnberg against Borussia Mönchengladbach on 30 January 2007.

Spiranovic was then loaned to Japanese football club, Urawa Red Diamonds by Nurnberg for 2010 season. He signed a permanent contract with the Japanese club in 2011 and helped the team to finish as a runner-up in J League Cup in the same year.

The Australian defender signed a two year deal with the  Qatari club, AI Arabi SC on the summer of 2012.

After his playing stint with Qatari football club, he returned back to Australia and signed with Australian soccer club, Western Sydney Wanderers in  2013. He then joined the Chinese Super League club, Hangzhou Greentown with whom he signed in July 2015.
