Nacho Monreal was born as Ignacio Nacho Monreal Eraso on 26 February 1986, to Spanish parents. He was born and raised in Pamplona, Spain. Talking about his nationality, he holds a Spanish citizenship. He joined the youth academy of Pamplona at the age of 7.
After being promoted from the youth ranks of CA Osasuna in 2005, his professional debut for the club came on 22 October 2006, in a match against Valencia.
