Danish footballer, Nicklas Bendtner is a former Arsenal, the English club player and presently plays for Denmark national team and Norwegian club Rosenborg. He is large, tall and physically strong player.

Nicklas Bendtner was born on 16th January 1988 to Thomas and Joan Bendtner in Copenhagen, Denmark. He started playing football at his early age by joining Tarnby Boldklub. Later he joined Kjobenhavns Boldklub, FC Copenhagen's feeder club in 1998.

In 4th August 2004, he joined Arsenal, the English club. In six Danish national youth team matches, he had scored four goals. On October 2005 at the Stadium of Light, he played his first League Cup match with his club, Arsenal against Sunderland.

Nicklas Bendtner's International Career

In February 2004, Nicklas Bendtner started his international career by playing three matches for Denmark under-16 team. He scored a hat-trick while playing against Armenia during his third game. He was declared Danish Under-17 Player of the Year in 2004 after scoring six goals in 15 appearances. 

On 17th May 2006, Bendtner played his first under-21 match against Spain in a friendly match at the age of 18 and scored two goals which made his National team win. In 2006 European Under-21 Championship, he was the youngest player for Denmark's squad who replaced Morten Duncan Rasmussen in his team starting line-up. During the match against the Netherlands, he was again replaced by Rasmussen but later in the press conference, he said that Rasmussen was not the better striker than him and the change was done mistakenly.

On 16th August 2006, Bendtner played his first senior match for Denmark at the age of 19 and was the seventh youngest player ever for the senior match. He played his first match against Poland and his team made the victory by two goals. In 2008 UEFA Euro qualifiers, he scored two goals by earning a place for the senior team.

In the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, Bendtner scored one goal in 84th minute against Portugal and later his team, Denmark won the match scoring 3-2 goals. Later, he was declared Danish Player of the Year and he won the Goal of the Year award which he had scored against Portugal. His team was qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup because of their victory against Sweden and goal scored by Jakob Poulsen was assisted by him.

In March 2015 at Aarhus, Bendtner scored a hat-trick in a friendly match for Denmark against the United States and won the match with 3-2 goals.

Bendtner wanted to spend his quality of time with his young son, Nicholas Bendtner and refused to play for his country at the 2011 European Championship.
