A Dutch-born-Moroccan international footballer, Noureddine Amrabat, a.k.a Nordin Amrabat is currently playing for Spanish club CD Leganes on loan from English club Watford as a winger. Since 2001, he is in the Morocco national team and has been capped 23 times. Also, the player has represented Netherlands Under-21 national team in 2007-08 season.

Amrabat has also been included in the 23-man Moroccan team for the 2018 World Cup in Russia captained by Medhi Benatia.

Early Career

After making his study plans, Amrabat signed Omniworld in 2006, where he contributed 14 goals in 36 matches. The following year, he switched to VVV-Venlo, scoring 10 goals and as many assists in 33 matches.

In 2008, he was signed by PSV for a reported fee of $2.36 million. He remained three seasons at the club before moving abroad for the first time, to Turkey’s Kayserispor.

Galatasaray

On 12th July 2012, Amrabat arrived at Galatasaray, signing a five-year contract for a reported transfer fee of $10.13 million. Later a month, he made his debut in the 2012 Turkish Super Cup in a 3-2 victory over Fenerbahce, coming on as a substitute in the 70th minutes.

On 15th September 2012, he scored twice for the Galatasaray in the 2012-13 Super Liga in a match against Antalyaspor and provided an assist in a 4-0 win.

Malaga

In January 2014, Amrabat was loaned out to Malaga for a six-month. His first goal for the club came on 10th March, in a 2-0 victory over Osasuna. In August 2014, he agreed to loan extension and stayed in Andalusia for the full season.

On 30th April 2015, he was purchased outright for a $4.12 million fee.

Watford

On 18th January 2016, Amrabat signed for Premier League club side for a reported transfer fee of $7.19 million. Later after five days, he made his debut at the end of a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United, replacing Troy Deeney.

On 1st September 2017, he was joined by CD Leganes, signing a one-year loan deal.

Nordin Amrabat's International Career

In November 2011, Amrabat decided to represent Morocco national football team internationally. On 11th November of the same year, he made his international debut with the Atlas Lions of Morocco against Uganda in a 0-1 defeat in the LG Cup.

His first international goal came on 13th November, in a friendly match against Cameroon in a 1-1 draw.

Moreover, the player was selected to play at the 2012 Olympics for the Moroccan team and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

In May 2018, Amrabat was named in Morocco’s 23man team along with his teammates Yassine Bounou, Munir Mohamedi and Medhi Benatia for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
