In July 2017, Pedro switched to Monterrey, signing a contract for an undisclosed transfer fee. Soon, he was loaned out to Lobos BUAP for a season-long loan deal. On 22nd July 2017, he made his BUAP and Liga MX debut in a 2-2 draw with Santos Laguna.
After finishing his loan spell with BUAP, he was again loaned out but this time to Leon.
Pedro Aquino Sanchez was a team member of Peru U-17, U-18, U-20, and U-22 national team. On 1st September 2016, he made his international debut for the Peru senior national team in a 0–2 loss to Bolivia in the 2018 World Cup qualifying round.
In May 2018, Pedro was named in Peru’s 24 man team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup along with his teammates Pedro Gallese, Aldo Corzo, and Raul Ruidiaz.
