Brazilian professional footballer, Rodrigo Caio Coquette Susso is professionally known as Rodrigo Caio. He is one of the most popular footballers who currently plays as a central defender for Sao Paulo FC.
Rodrigo Caio was born on 17th of August 1993, in Dracena, Sao Paul, as Rodrigo Caio Coquette Russo. Since he was 12, he began his football career with “Sao Paulo," a professional football club based in Sao Paulo, Brazil that plays in the “Paulistao” and “Brasileirao." From 2005-2011, Caio played as a senior player for the club.
In 2011, Rodrigo Caio entered the Sao Paulo’s senior team. That year made total eight appearances. In the following year, in the stage league against “Santos FC,” he played a right back in a 3-2 win with the responsibility of marking Neymar.
After the game, he was praised much by the media for his success in holding down the santista forward. He executed the Scorpion Movements to prevent some dribbles and shots from Neymar.
In 2013, following the injury of Edson Silva and Paulo Miranda, he began playing as a center back. After good performances, he was eulogized by Coach Paulo Autuori who highlighted his superior role to Sao Paulo’s defense.
On 2nd August 2014, Rodrigo Caio injured with anterior the cruciate ligament missed the game for some years, and he made his comeback after ten months.
On 12th June 2015, Rodrigo Caio signed a five-year contract with “Valencia Cf," a Spanish football club based in Valencia, the club participates in La Liga. He joined the club for €12.5 million fees plus 4 million more in add-ons. However, after he failed two medicals, his transfer to Valencia was collapsed.
In 2012, Rodrigo Caio was chosen for Brazil U20. In that year he made four appearances with one goal. Two years later he entered in Brazil U21. From 2015-16, he played for Brazil U23, appearing six times with one goal. Since 2016, he has been playing for the national football team of Brazil.
