Tijjani Reijnders was born in Zwolle, Netherlands, on the 29th day of July 1998, into a really culturally rich family. His father, Martin Reijnders, is a former professional footballer, while his mother, Angelina, adds Indonesian heritage into the mix.
He is the first of three siblings and grew up with a competitive streak, besides his very inherent love for football, nurtured by a very supportive family.
Tijjani started at WVF Zwolle when he was five years old, joining the youth academy of PEC Zwolle at nine years. Two years later, he went to FC Twente; however, he was only there for two months before he was released. He bounced back into football as he continued to play for CSV '28 Zwolle. Coming back to PEC Zwolle, he played in the U19s and had a taster in first-team football.
Tijjani signed with AZ Alkmaar back in 2017 and left his mark in Jong AZ. His loan to RKC Waalwijk served him well to gain experience, while the 2022–23 season brought him to shine, contributing to the AZ run in the UEFA Europa League.
These brilliant displays then earned him a transfer to AC Milan this July 2023, where he made his debut and scored his first goal by November.
The international journey for Tijjani took flight on September 7, 2023, when he made his debut for the Netherlands in a Euro 2024 qualifier against Greece. He celebrated his first international goal against Scotland on March 22, 2024. His inclusion in the squad for Euro 2024 underlines his rapid rise in international football.
