Vilmos Tamas Orban, a.k.a. Willi Orban is a Hungarian professional football center-back playing Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and the Hungary national team. Earlier, he played for 1. FC Kaiserslautern (2011-2015). 

Kaiserslautern, Germany native, Willi Orban was born on 3rd November 1992, under the star sign Scorpio. His father is Hungarian while his mother is of Polish descent. His parents divorced when he was two. Willi and his sister, Sandra was raised by his mother.

Career

1. FC Kaiserslautern academic product, Willi Orban joined the club when he was four and progressed through the ranks of the club's academy by playing for the club's U17 and U19.

For the 2011-12 season, he was promoted to 1. FC Kaiserslautern II squad. Shortly after, he was called up to the first team. On 27th August 2011, he made his first-team debut in a match against Bayern Munich. Until 2015, he played 68 games and scored 7 goals.

In May 2015, Orban signed to rivals RB Leipzig for reported to have cost 2.5 million euros transfer fee. In the opening game of the season, he made his  RB Leipzig debut, starting the whole game, in a 1–0 win over FSV Frankfurt. As of June 2021, he has played a total of 151 games with 16 goals.

Since Orban was born and grew up in Germany to a Hungarian father and a Polish mother, he is eligible for all three national teams: Germany, Hungary, and Poland. In 2014, he played for Germany U21 national team.

On 1 October 2018, Orban elected to represent Hungary. He made his debut in a 1–0 UEFA Nations League loss to Greece on 12 October 2018. On 1 June 2021, he was named in the final 26-man squad to represent Hungary at the rescheduled UEFA Euro 2020 tournament. To date, he has earned 21 caps and 5 goals.
