Wu Xi was born on February 19, 1989, in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China. Reviewing his nationality, Wu Xi is Chinese and belongs to Han ethnicity.
At the beginning of his career, Wu Xi joined the Hebei Tiangong in 2008. He soon developed himself as a better player and got an opportunity to join the Chinese football club, Shanghai Greenland Shenhua F.C. in 2009. Afterward, Xi made his official debut for the club against Nanchang Bayi in April 2010 at the start of the 2010 season.
Thereafter, Wu Xi scored his first goal on April 17, 2010, against Tianjin Teda. Later, he was transferred to Jiangsu Suning in 2013. And since then he is playing with the club in Chinese Super League.
Xi made his debut for the club against FC Seoul in February 2013, in the AFC Champions League. As of now, he played in more than 130 matches and scored 14 goals for the club.
Wu Xi represented his national team in China U-20, U-23. In 2011, he was first called up to the Chinese senior team where he played against Laos in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier. He has also played the 2015 AFC Asian Cup and 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier. As of 2017, he has played 45 matches and scored 3 goals for the national team.
