Yun Young-sun is a South Korean professional footballer who plays as a center back for the South Korean national team and Seongnam FC. He made his football career debut with Baegam High School in 2004 and later after two years, he switched to Dankook University A South Korean international since 2015.

Career of Yun Young-sun

Yun Young-sun took his first step in the field of football as a youth player at Baegam High School in 2004 where he remained for two years. Following that, he played two years for youth squad of Dankook University. He began his professional career with the Seongnam FC in 2010 and scored a goal on his debut against Melbourne Victory at AFC Champions League.

Similarly, Young-sun made his K-League debut on March 19, 2010, against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, replacing Kim Jin-Yong. He has so far played 163 games scoring 5 goals. He is the member of the team that won 2010 AFC Champions League and 2011 FA Cup.

Yun Young-sun had a loan spell at Sangju Sangmu for two-season where he played 23 games before ending his loan-contract.

International Career

On 17th November 2015, Yun Young-sun made his international debut under the coach Uli Stielike in a 0-5 win against Laso during the World Cup qualification. As of May 2018, his name was included in the South Korean final 23-man squad for the World Cup along with his teammates Park Joo-ho, Kim Jin-Hyeon, and Lee Yong.

His team lost their first two matches against Sweden and Mexico. Following this, South Korea will play against Germany on 27th June 2018. However, captain Ki Sung-Yeung will miss the must-win match against the Germans after picking up a calf injury during the match against Mexico.
